Industria Cartonera Dominicana, S.A. began operation in February 1939 as the first manufacturer of corrugated carton packaging in Dominican Republic.

From the 70’s thru the 90’s the company had important renovations of its physical infrastructure and equipment as started to develop innovative products and services for the local market.

The company obtained the ISO 9001 certification for its Quality Assurance System by Lloyds Register Quality Assurance.

Jefferson Smurfit Group, today SmufitKappa Group, acquired the control of Industria Cartonera Dominicana S.A. as part of its global expansion strategy.
